Where space is limited or where planning
constraints exist, 2iC promote the construction of underground
storage facilities for irrigation water. Our underground reservoir
designs use similar techniques to sub-terranean storm attenuators
but are designed 'off-line' whereby the fill and extraction
chamber are the same - so reducing costs and siltation. The
storage component of the reservoir is built on a modular basis,
each module comprising a strong honeycomb structure with a
void capacity of around 95%. This gives the underground reservoir
a vertical strength of at least 40tonnes/m2 making it ideal
for locating under car parks, areas of hard standing, practice
grounds or fairways. In addition no access is possible to
the reservoir, improving the health and safety of the site
as a whole.
