of storage reservoirs and lakes
In many parts of the world,
it is not possible to use potable water for irrigation purposes.
Where it is legal to use potable water it is extremely expensive
and is always seen as the last option. In the UK a golf course
currently consuming 20,000 m3 of potable water annually, can
reduce its water bill to less than £200.00 (from around
£13,000) by using water garnered from the winter surplus
which is available in January to March.
2iC has seven years sucessful
experience in the design of storage reservoirs up to a capacity
of approximately 50 million litres (11 million imperial gallons).
As engineering consultants, 2iC carries out the initial irrigation
research to determine the capacity required, surveys the site,
covers all legal aspects such as abstraction licences and
planning consents, designs the reservoir, appoints a contractor
or contractors via competitive tender or negotiated contract,
oversees the construction, and designs all filling procedures
and extraction pumping details.
From start to finish there
is no break in the information chain and 2iC ensures that
construction follows the strictest guidelines. The quality
control standards applied to a project by 2iC give anticipated
life-spans far in excess of design and build projects, and
at a much lower total cost.
