The specification of materials and installation techniques goes hand in hand with the irrigation design and forms part of the contract documentation. Each design is bespoke and thus specifications are tailored at the research and design stages to each individual project. As independent designers, 2iC may indicate manufacturers' models that will fulfil particular functions, without any favour, whilst also allowing a contractor to introduce equal alternatives if quality can be proved. This approach aids the innovative use of materials and specifications from other tried and tested civil, hydraulic and electronic engineering disciplines. It also allows for improvements to be made in the working practice of contractors whilst at the same time protecting clients from untested materials and unproved claims.
