2iC specialise in procuring
the highest quality irrigation and environmental water engineering
systems for their clients. An alternative to 2iC designing
and specifying the system, and then administering the contract
documentation and overseeing the installation, is for the
works to be project managed. This is an excellent way of achieving
a high quality system at a reduced price. Works may be split
into a number of sub-contracts which allows local contractors
to complete parts of the overall project. Typical sub-contracts
may include earthworks, electrical work, trenching work and
plumbing. On projects occupied by landscape contractors, it
is often logical for these contractors to fit sprinklers or
drip lines. And on projects with much building or hard landscaping,
pipe work and ducting for cables are easily and efficiently
laid by contractors with no specialist irrigation knowledge.
On other projects, green
keeping and grounds care staff are easily instructed in repetitive
installation work. An owner-construct project results in reliable
adherence to installation standards and a work force with
a better understanding of the irrigation system beneath their
feet. Specialist contractors can be brought in to fit the
pumping systems etc., and 2iC commission the system and sign
off the works. 2iC manages these projects in such a way that
conflict of overlapping sub-contract work does not happen,
nor is there any detriment to health and safety or long term
warranties.
